TBTU |
Commissioned by Adenn Gra'tua Ogden and designed and produced by the newly nationalized MandalMotors, the TBTU Orbital Space Station was designed at first to assist in controlling planetary traffic- an orbital station where ships leaving or entering a planet could stop for inspection or be impounded at or, when needed, be able to destroy a rogue ship. As an afterthought, several layers of redundant countermeasures were added in the event of an assault so that the station, while likely being one of the main targets, if not the first target of an invasion, would be able to survive longer and wreak havoc for the attack fleet. A few of its weapons were altered to be able to aim planetward and its targeting system was enhanced for accuracy so that it could also be used for surgical strikes or mass bombardment from orbit.
